SEEING THINGS FROM A CANDIDATE'S PERSPECTIVE:

Beyond SUPERMAN and SUPERWOMAN

Gordon Yates is client-driven. By this I mean that we try to source the best possible people for our clients. This doesn't mean that you have to be Superman or Superwoman to get a job through GY! But it does mean that, at every level, we're always looking for that extra edge of experience, ability or enthusiasm.

But what about the people who don't quite match what our clients need - the candidates who don't get a job through Gordon Yates? I'd like to give you an example of what one candidate said:-

We interview you in private - away from the bustle of phones and interruptions, so you receive the 100% focus that you deserve.

We don't abuse your trust.

For instance, agencies sometimes ask about your other job interviews as a way of gaining sales leads rather than to help you - as soon as you've gone they put their own candidates forward in competition against you. We have always opposed this kind of practice.

On a lighter note, our candidates benefit from informal get-togethers every three months or so - we provide the food, wine and sometimes entertainment (cartoonists, conjurers, that sort of thing!). It's a good way to meet each other and helps to create a sense of belonging.
