What makes Gordon Yates different? I think it's our link with charity - helping us play our part in the wider community
We talk elsewhere on this web-site about our '3Cs' - our symbol for doing business in a way that tries to see things always through the eyes of others. Day by day the 3Cs' symbol helps us to keep focused on the needs of our clients, candidates and colleagues.
Supporting children - locally and around the world
But we also all live in a much wider community too. For over 25 years Gordon Yates has supported the work of Shaftesbury Young People - previous to 7 April 2007 known as Shaftesbury Homes - an outstanding local charity that provides shelter and loving support to London children in need of both. We help by raising funds, by donating computers and office software, by helping youngsters to gain office skills, by turning up en masse to help paint and decorate dayrooms etc.
More recently, we've also started to support Plan International - an organisation that enables individuals to sponsor a Third World child and, through them, the community in which they live.
Such links are important in 'keeping feet on the ground' and maintaining a sensible perspective. Sometimes life and work can feel very pressurised - but the bigger picture is that most of us are extraordinarily privileged when compared to others with less opportunities and advantages. It feels good to put something back and to make a difference however small. It can also be enormous fun.
Advertising strategy - continuous investment in high quality, high profile advertising
According to independent (Nielsen Media) research, Gordon Yates consistently places more column centimetres of recruitment advertising than any other recruitment agency of its size in the secretarial/support staff sector.
The statistics underline our long-term strategy: we invest more heavily than others in advertising because the more candidates we meet, the more effective we are for our clients.
Consistently our advertising leads the field for quality as well as quantity. First in our sector to 'trade set' our ads (rather than lose quality control by having the paper set them for us), each job advertised is individually crafted to attract high grade response.
